Position Overview
The Employment Specialist will play a key role in connecting job seekers with meaningful employment opportunities. This position supports CFEC, job fairs, oversees employment services, facilitates workshops, and builds strong relationships with employers. The ideal candidate is passionate about workforce development and has experience in recruitment, staffing, or training.
Key Responsibilities
- Job Fair Support: Assist in planning, organizing, and executing job fairs, hiring and employer events.
- Employment Services Oversight: Manage day-to-day employment programs, ensuring job seekers receive quality support and resources.
- Volunteer Oversight: Supervise volunteers who administer workshops, trainings, and job readiness programs.
- Workshops & Training: Develop and deliver workshops on job readiness, resume building, interviewing, and career development.
- Employer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local employers to create hiring pipelines and second-chance opportunities.
- Job Placement: Help hundreds of job seekers annually secure employment through personalized coaching and employer connections.
- Innovation & Initiatives: Implement AI-driven training programs, certificate workshops, and second-chance hiring initiatives.
- Labor Market Insight: Utilize employment forecasting and trends to guide job seekers and inform program strategies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Social Services, or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 1–3 years in recruitment, staffing, workforce development, or training.
- Familiarity with employment forecasting and labor market trends.
- Experience coordinating volunteers is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships with employers and community partners.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with job boards and applicant tracking systems is a plus.
